Pay attention to shipping! The country imposes an additional import tax of 15-200% on some goods!

Iraq’s Cabinet secretariat recently approved a list of additional import duties designed to protect domestic producers:

Impose an additional duty of 65% on “epoxy resins and modern dyes” imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitor the local market while imposing additional duties.
An additional duty of 65 per cent has been imposed on laundry detergent used for washing coloured, black and dark clothes imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and the local market has been monitored during this period.
Impose an additional duty of 65 per cent on floor and clothing fresheners, fabric softeners, liquids and gels imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitor the local market during this period.
Impose an additional duty of 65 per cent on floor cleaners and dishwashers imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitor the local market during this period.
An additional duty of 100 per cent is imposed on cigarettes imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and the local market is monitored during this period.
An additional duty of 100 per cent on corrugated or plain cardboard in the form of boxes, plates, printed or unprinted partitions imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitoring of the local market.
Impose an additional duty of 200 per cent on alcoholic beverages imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitor the local market during this period.
Impose an additional duty of 20% on plastic pipes and accessories PPR & PPRC imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitor the local market.
This decision shall take effect 120 days after the date of promulgation.
The Cabinet Secretariat mentioned separately the imposition of an additional tariff of 15 per cent on galvanized and non-galvanized metal pipes imported into Iraq from all countries and manufacturers for a period of four years, without reduction, and monitoring of the local market.
